01 October 2007 - Upstream OnLine - Kazakhstan’s oilfield developer Kor-Tazh, a unit of Houston-based Caspian Internation Oil Corporation (CIOC), has handed a contract for the design of a new well on its North-West Zhetybai oilfield to US services giant Halliburton. CIOC said Kor-Tazh was busy interpreting data from a 3D survey recently shot on the 5500-acre field, which lies about 40 miles (64 kilometres) east of the Caspian Sea. The company also said Kor-Tazh planned to re-enter three existing wells on the field, with work set to start by the end of the year.
